OSNOVNA SKOLA “BOGOSLAV SULEK”

We are elementary school “Bogoslav Šulek” in Slavonski Brod, Croatia. Our hometown is the 6th biggest city and in 2009 was declared the most beautiful city in Croatia.“Bogoslav Šulek” is one of the biggest elementary schools in Croatia. Our students are aged from 6 to 14 and they are responsible, hard-working and interested in all sorts of activities and challenges that come their way. Students attend the first to the eighth grade. We have 1014 students in this year in 55 class department, also we have 3 class department
of students with special need(primary easy intellectual difficulties withsome other difficulties). Our teachers are doing their best to motivate them to develop their abilities, creativity and productivity. As a result, our students often win in various competitions. We have approximately 100 teachers, and most of us are young and willing to improve our potential with one ultimate goal – to help our students get the best possible education. We see Erasmus+ as an excellent opportunity to develop teaching and learning strategies, for both, teachers and students. It gives a way to create positive working atmosphere in our everyday life and school surroundings, and positively affects development of new skills. It can also help us to get acquainted with different cultures and languages and to encourage acceptance of diversities. Those are the values we are trying to encourage in our classrooms.

SLOVAKIA

ZAKLADNA SKOLA S MATERSKOU SKOLOU

Our school consists of a nursery, primary and secondary school. It is a quite small school, with 134 pupils in school and 54 children in the nursery,  in a small village in the region of Orava, Tvrdosin. We have 22 teachers, 15 in the primary and secondary school and 6 in the nursery.  The school is situated in the north of Slovakia, near the Polish border. Habovka is a touristic centre, at the bottom of the West Tatras, with many ski slopes, tracks for cross country skiing and also many thermal spas near the village. Many children of our school have their parents away from home because of their job and many parents are unemployed, so we have to help them financially, but we also have to cope with their education, social position and many other problems. We would like to include them in the project because of showing them different ways of learning and finding themselves and fulfil their free time rationally.

GERMANY

MITTELSCHULE FUERTH, KIDERLINSTRASSE

We are a secondary school in the south of Fuerth with 19 classes in the current academic year and pupils from the ages of 11 – 18. We would like to participate as an active partner in the project with schools from different countries because many of our pupils have a multicultural background (European and non-European countries). We installed three special classes for foreign students that have only recently come to Germany and also have special language courses for those who don’t speak German well enough to attend a regular class all the time. Also many of our students need additional help from social institutions (e.g. social workers in our schools) concerning language, education and integration. Mittelschule Kiderlinstrasse takes part in many social and sports activities such as weekly team building lessons in class 5, sports competitions, sports days, fun fairs etc. To work closely with pupils and teachers from the partner countries would be a great opportunity for both our German students and those with a migrational background to find out more about their own culture, the culture and habits of the country they are living in at the moment and about all the other partner countries as well. We think that through sports and games we will be able to establish a sound basis for our joint work. We plan to include all our pupils (classes 5-10 / about 350 pupils) in the project work.
